While working in Thailand’s hospitality industry for the past seven years, several times the Bossotel name has popped up when discussing Riverside hotels in Bangkok. I had never visited the hotel, so in my mind it was just a normal 3 star hotel. Recently, I started asking myself questions like “Why do travel agents always request Bossotel from WD Travel?” or “Why does this hotel always have high occupancy all year round?” Is it because of the location? Is it something else that I do not know about? I was lucky enough to set up an inspection trip to Bossotel Bangkok in order to get some answers to my questions.
The Bossotel is categorized as a boutique hotel with 80 rooms and one suite. The decoration is a blend of Western comfort and Asian architecture. The hotel is located on the same road as Shangri-La hotel, just off Charoen Krung Road. The front of the hotel looks very new and stylish, yet blends into the shops located on either side of the hotel. When entering the lobby I was pleasantly surprised with the high ceilings and comfortable earth-tone color style.
I met with my host Khun Duangnate Natesmanont, the Assistant General Manager of Bossotel. We started the inspection with a tour of each room type; Standard, Superior, Deluxe and the very impressive Suite room. The condition of the rooms looked very new and I asked Khun Duangnate if they had just finished a renovation program. Surprisingly, the rooms had not been renovated for two years. Khun Duangnate attributed the excellent condition of the rooms to a very hard working housekeeping staff that keep all rooms in top shape.

The rooms are spacious, bright and comfortable. Most of the rooms have a nice overlooking view of the famous Wat Suan Plu. My favorite room was the spacious Suite room, which was equipped with a large screen LCD and DVD player. The highlight was the ceiling above the bed which allows for ‘star gazing’ even in the day time (you have to visit this room to fully understand).
Afterwards, we visited the Lyn-La Spa located on the second floor. The warm and friendly welcome from the Spa Manager, receptionist and therapists impressed me. The atmosphere and aromatic scents are very inviting to guests. All ten treatment rooms provide privacy and comfort while enjoying a selection of treatments. Lyn-La Spa is well known for its high level of service and reasonable prices, so much that it attracts many customers from the numerous five star hotels in the Riverside area.
One other thing that impressed me is that there is free WIFI internet available throughout the hotel. Other facilities include two restaurants, room service, swimming pool, fitness center, business center, tour counter, and laundry service.
By the end of my visit, all of my earlier questions were now answered as to why the Bossotel Bangkok is such a popular hotel. It is difficult to find a better valued hotel in the same rate class as the Bossotel Bangkok.
