I was excited to visit the Dusit Thani Bangkok for the first time. During my time working in the hotel industry I had heard so many positives about the famous Dusit Thani brand of hospitality, this was my chance to experience it.
To start off, the hotel is located at the end of Silom Road along the intersection with Rama IV Road, just overlooking Lumphini Park. This location is ideal for guests like me who want to see have easy access to the modern amenities of Bangkok such as the Skytrain, Subway, top night life spots and of course the major shopping malls. The location is also perfect for business travelers who need quick access to the Silom and Sathorn business districts.
Inside the spacious Thai-style tropical garden lobby I met with my two very knowledgeable guides for the inspection, Khun Tatcha Riddhimat, Group Director of Sales and Khun Sommai Yocapajorn, Public Relations Manager for the Dusit Group.

We started with a tour of the different room types of the Dusit Thani. There are a total of 517 rooms in total, the highlight is the signature Dusit Grand Rooms decorated beautifully with silk and teakwood and measuring a huge sixty square meters in size. The standard amenities for all rooms include high speed Internet access, working desk, LCD TV and a 24-hour butler service. Full five star facilities are provided, including a business center, the famous Devarana Spa, the D-Fit Fitness Center, a large octagonal swimming pool, a golf driving range and shopping arcade.
One of the highlights of my inspection was visiting the thirteen different food and beverage outlets. It made me wonder if guests at the hotel would ever need to leave the hotel to find something to eat or drink! There are an abundance of delectable choices of Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, American Steakhouse, Italian and French cuisines along with a large bakery serving delicious pastries and cakes. My stomach could not make a decision!
I decided to learn some more about Dusit’s renowned ‘New French’ restaurant named D’Sens. In collaboration with Jacques and Laurent Pourcel (Michelin star chefs) from Montpellier, France, D'Sens is located on the 22nd floor of the hotel with a dazzling bird's eye view of Bangkok. French a la carte and set menus are available for both lunch and dinner. This restaurant is popular for both guests and non-guests with a passion for modern French cuisine.
The Dusit Thani Bangkok fills the needs of those wanting a hotel with an excellent location, top star facilities and F&B outlets, and an overall outstanding level of luxury hospitability.
