The Eastin Hotel has been closed for renovation for the past seven months. The hotel just recently had its soft re-opening. The property has been renamed Eastin Hotel and Spa, Bangkok and has been upgraded to a four-star level.
The hotel is located in the very popular Pratunam district on New Petchburi Road. The close proximity to the Expressway helps to avoid the heavy traffic in the area. The WD Travel Contracting team met with Khun Siriwan Kumwan, Sales Executive of Eastin Hotel and Spa, for an inspection of the newly renovated property. We were warmly welcomed by Khun Siriwan at the new lobby lounge on the 7th floor which has a panoramic view of metropolitan Bangkok.
The interior of the hotel has been completely renovated with a modern luxurious style which features a lot of open space and large windows, allowing for a bright atmosphere. Customers who previously stayed in the old Eastin will be pleasantly surprised when they see the new Eastin with its new style. The property was been completely renovated, and looks like a brand new hotel on the inside. Khun Siriwan explains that the management of the hotel has also spent the past several months training the staff, in order to upgrade the service level to a higher standard.

The Eastin Hotel and Spa has 280 guest rooms ranging from Superior to Suite room types. While inspecting each of the room types, two interesting features stood out in my mind. First, was the large screen television projector in Superior rooms, replacing traditional TVs and LCDs. Second, was the ability to order room service through the television system in seven different languages. This is especially helpful for guests whose first language is not English.
There is a wide selection of dining outlets at the new Eastin. One choice that caught my eye was the Sky lounge on the 23rd floor. This is quite a romantic setting with a very good view of Bangkok and both outdoor and indoor seating. The Sky Lounge features a wide choice of delicious European food.
Another convenient development is the construction of the Airport Check-in Terminal with rail connection to Suvarnabhumi airport. The terminal will be located within 100 meters from the hotel and will be completed by the end of 2008.
Overall, I am happy once again to be able to offer Eastin Hotel and Spa to WD Travel clients!
