There are many hotel choices in the lower Sukhumvit region of Bangkok. One hotel that has a strong reputation as being one of the best is the JW Marriott Bangkok. The WD Travel Contracting team recently had a group inspection at this five-star hotel located on Sukhumvit Soi 2.
The location of the JW Marriott Bangkok is quite convenient. There is direct access to the Expressway system, the BTS Skytrain Ploenchit and Nana stations, and short distances from Embassies, the Convention center, entertainment areas and night markets. The close proximity to the expressway makes it possible to reach Suvarnabhumi Airport in approximately 45 minutes.
JW Marriott features 441 luxurious Deluxe guest rooms, including 39 Executive suites. All the rooms are fully equipped with plasma screens, various PC, iPod and MP3 connections, and audio equipment. I was quite impressed by the high quality room furnishings and d้cor. Little details like goose and duck feather pillows allowing for maximum guest comfort really set this hotel apart from others.

We continued on to the Executive floor on the 9th-level of the hotel. The Executive lounge has breathtaking views of central Bangkok. The lounge serves complimentary snacks, soft drinks, canapes and fresh fruits in addition to having a dedicated concierge staff to handle all guests’ needs.
The hotel functions such as lighting and integrated fire alarm and emergency evacuation alarm system are easily controlled by Simplex System of Seccom (Thailand) Corp. Ltd., which is technologically advanced control and security system.
For dining options, JW Marriott Bangkok offers eight F&B outlets in total. One of the better known restaurants is the award winning New York Steak House, offering authentic American taste, which is quite hard to find in Bangkok. Another dining option is Tsu & Nami Japanese Restaurant serving Sushi and Teppanyaki Steak with all top grade Kobe beef. Guests can also enjoy the finest Cantonese dishes from Singaporean and Chinese chefs. In addition, the hotel has one of the best known buffets in Bangkok at the Marriott Cafe with a casual dining style for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The JW Marriott Bangkok is highly recommended for business and leisure travelers. With its Thai hospitality, top restaurants, and excellent facilities the choice is easy!
