Menam Riverside Hotel Review. A WD Travel Hotel Review.

This week, the WD Travel Contracting team had the opportunity to inspect Menam Riverside Hotel, one of the Bangkok’s newest entrants to the five-star category.

The location of Menam Riverside Hotel is quite appealing right by the banks of the Chao Phraya River. The location is easily accessible by the hotel's free shuttle boat service, only 5 minutes to the Saphan Taksin Skytrain station. The location allows for easy access to the central parts of Bangkok, while at the same time allowing guests to enjoy the relative calmness of the Riverside location.

Once we arrived at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by Khun Sa-Nguan, Director of Marketing, and many sincere Thai smiles by the staff in the hotel lobby. The hotel features five different room types – Deluxe, Grand Deluxe, Plaza Suite, Royal Suite and President Suite, with 550 guest rooms and suites in total, all spacious and overlooking a fantastic view of city skyline and the river. The lobby and all of the rooms are nicely decorated and tastefully designed in contemporary Thai style with well-equipped facilities in order to meet all guests comfort.

The hotel offers recreational facilities such as an outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, Sala-Thai pool bar, fitness center and Thai massage. We noticed how relaxed the guests were while doing many activities around the pool – swimming, sunbathing and chilling with cool drinks in hand. We continued to the 5th floor, which is the handicapped zone with 23 large rooms, specially designed for disabled guests. The Executive floors on 15th and 16th floors feature all amenities for business travelers, with a total of 54 suites.

The hotel functions such as lighting and integrated fire alarm and emergency evacuation alarm system are easily controlled by Simplex System of Seccom (Thailand) Corp. Ltd., which is technologically advanced control and security system.

Numerous dining options are available at the Menam Riverside Terrace Seafood Restaurant and other outlets in the hotel. The restaurant serves an international buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with fresh and succulent seafood available for diners.

With its high standards of quality and numerous facilities, Menam Riverside Hotel was awarded five star accommodation status on November 11, 2007 according to the Thailand Tourism Standards of the Office of Tourism Development.
