At WD Travel we get many requests for hotels near Bangkok’s new airport. Although, not officially an ‘airport hotel’, the Radisson Hotel Bangkok is only a short 20 minute drive to the airport, and is a convenient alternative to other hotels located in the Suvarnabhumi area.
With the airport location in mind, I contacted Radisson’s Sales Manager, Khun Kontee Chatikul, to arrange an inspection at the hotel for the WD Travel Contracting Team. We have been selling the Radisson Hotel Bangkok for quite a while already but have not emphasized its convenient airport location.
We arrived at the hotel via Bangkok’s Expressway; surprisingly it only took us 20 minutes to get there from the busy Silom area. We were greeted in the lobby by our expert guides Khun Amawn Sangsajja, Group Director of Sales, and his experienced sales team.

The hotel has 448 spacious rooms and suites with a modern-contemporary design. We started the inspection in a Deluxe room which was up to the four star standard. Each Deluxe room features a large working area with desk; with both wireless and LAN internet available. All in-room functions such as lighting, air-con, television are easily controlled by a touch sensor. The large bathroom area featured a separate bathtub and shower. Khun Amawn was proud to point out that the hotel has rooms that are fully accessible for disabled guests, something that many Bangkok hotels do not offer.
Since I love shopping, I was a bit concerned about the hotel’s location relative to Bangkok’s famous shopping areas. I asked Khun Amawn how the Radisson supports ‘shopaholics’ who need easy access to shopping venues. Khun Amawn smiled and led us to the ground floor which had a complimentary shuttle desk which provides hourly shuttles to Siam Paragon, Lumpini Night Bazaar, Chatuchak market, Subway and Skytrain stations.
The international buffet lunch at The Radisson Coffee Shop was truly impressive in both the wide range of dishes offered and the delicious taste of the food. The Radisson Hotel Bangkok has eight F&B outlets in total; Tubtim Siam Restaurant (Traditional Thai), Nishiki Japanese Restaurant (Japanese), Fook Yuan Restaurant (Chinese/Cantonese), three different lounges and a bakery. Guests have a wide range of choices, which more than makes up for the lack of restaurants in the immediate area.
In the end, I found that The Radisson Hotel is a perfect destination for business and leisure guests who want to stay near Suvarnabhumi Airport and still enjoy activities in central Bangkok.
